About the movie

Osman, a young Syrian boy traveling illegally through Sweden, is been traumatized after being raped on a train and manipulated by an extremist imam into carrying out a suicide bombing in Gothenburg, a plan he abandons when a chance encounter with a compassionate biracial girl, Dolores, reawakens his humanity. His aunt Yara is a Syrian doctor haunted by a brutal migration journey marked by loss, exploitation, and sexual violence. Mitre is an elderly Swedish immigrant who once fled poverty and built a life as a renowned shoemaker. Their intertwined stories reveal parallel histories of displacement, survival, and moral reckoning. When Osman is been coerced into extorting Mitre to repay the extremists, a confrontation instead becomes a moment of shared truth, as Mitre recounts his own refugee past and ultimately sacrifices himself to dismantle the extremist threat. The film closes with the characters reunited around Mitre’s table, suggesting reconciliation, healing and hope.
