Set in a rigid corporate society, where employees are strictly divided by floors, SOFIJA (30) thrives as a creative marketing manager, enjoying the privileges of her high-ranking position alongside her close friend and colleague, PREDRAG (32). In this world, around 50 years from now, technology dictates every aspect of life—employees wear biometric wristbands that track their actions, and artificial intelligence plays a key role in decision-making.
Sofija’s stable life is suddenly disrupted when the company’s chief regional manager, KRISTINA (38)—who only appears as a hologram—informs her that she no longer meets expectations. To maintain her position, she is forced into the beta testing of a new matchmaking program developed by VIKTOR (32), a distant and rigid employee from the lower floors. The program is designed to “optimize” her future by finding her the perfect partner, as the company deems marriage and stability essential for career growth.
Sofija resists, unwilling to be forced into a predetermined role, but Predrag convinces her to participate, believing they can manipulate the system. When they discover that Viktor is Predrag’s former schoolmate, they assume they have an advantage. However, as the test progresses, Sofija deliberately rejects every match, refusing to conform. Viktor grows suspicious, while at the same time, he begins to develop unexpected feelings for her—despite being married to someone chosen by the system. His emotional response proves the program’s flaws, contradicting the very logic on which it was built.
The experiment escalates into conflict, forcing both Sofija and Viktor to confront the truth about their world. Sofija realizes the extent of the company’s control and her own privilege, while Viktor, once robotic in his ways, begins to question the system he helped create.
In the final confrontation, Viktor directly challenges Kristina, exposing not only the program’s failures and its potential for exploitation but also the flaws of the entire system their company is built upon. Unwilling to be complicit any longer, he destroys the program, erasing its data and ensuring it can never be used again. With no place left in the company, he resigns, refusing to be part of a system that strips people of choice.
Sofija, refusing to be molded into something she’s not, voluntarily moves to the 20th floor, a lower-tier section of the company, choosing freedom over status.
Predrag, however, remains behind—still within the system, yet as he watches Sofija leave, a small doubt sparks in him as well.
